RX480 and i5 4680k - How well does Fallout 4 play?

Hello. I'm going to be buying the RX 480 8gb Sapphire Nitro+ OC version @ 1342mhz and was wondering how well Fallout 4 runs after like an hour of gamplay? I know you can run it on Ultra, but how well? I'm a huge fanboy of the Fallout series and I want to make sure this upgrade will be worth it...

My monitor is 900p

Yeah i've got V-Sync on anyway. What about cities and stuff? I'm guessing the high amount of RAM will prevent it from lagging as much in the city? I'm on a 2gb r9 270x at the moment XD

Already reserved. You just made me make a much better decision. I'm on DX11 too. Is that okay?

Hey i know this is pretty old but I just purchased and installed a Sapphire Rx480 nitro+ 8gb oc and along with 16gb of ram and an AMD FX 8370, im getting like 15-20 fps with this thing on Fallout 4. Anyone here have a similar problem?

Hi SolidSnake,

Does your RX 480 work okay with other games? If so, I'd recommend reinstalling your drivers, making sure you get the latest ones from AMD's website. I've located it for you below. Before you uninstall the old one, download DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and let it take you into Safe Mode and uninstall the current AMD drivers and restart. Once you're back on the normal desktop, reinstall the AMD driver.

I'd really recommend using DDU to clean Nvidia drivers just in case they got left behind.

Latest AMD Driver (Windows 10): http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%2010%20-%2064

I hope this helps!
