When should I reapply thermal paste to my CPU?

only do so when temps act up, if you used decent paste, you can last 4-8 years. sometimes more. I try to avoid doing so unless I have to, as attaching heat sinks can be a great way to damage something if you drop a screwdriver or heat sink on the motherboard. ( I have seen a screwdriver to the south bridge... it was not pretty)
