What graphics card and cpu can I run with the MSI 760 P34 FX motherboard?

Solution
You can run basically any AMD CPU other than the APUs (that use FM2), but you should probably stick to something that's 6 cores or less on the board (FX6300ish) because the 8 cores need more power. Unless you already have the board, I would highly recommend picking something from Intel instead, this platform is ridiculously outdated. Any graphics card will run on this mobo, but anything better than a GTX 970 or 1060 will get bottlenecked fairly heavily by the CPU you choose.

So from what i am understanding is that i can use a AMD CPU that runs 6 cores or less. Anything higher than a 970 or 1060 will be bottlenecked by a CPU of my choice? So for example if I wanted to upgrade my AMD FX 6300 to an i3 6100 dual core skylake processor would that be possible? Because if it is, I might as well go for it and go for a gtx 960 or 1060 as well. Sorry if this is stupid I just havent done reasearch on this on my own and I am a very lazy person lol

Well you'd have to have a different motherboard for the Intel, AMD and Intel use different motherboards and sockets. Since you already have this one you may as well get an FX 6300 or 6350 and a mid tier graphics card like an rx 470 or 480 4GB.

The RX 480 is roughly equivalent to a GTX 970 in most games, so it will easily handle anything at 1080p. The RX 470 and GTX 1060 would also be good choices or you can wait for the gtx 1050. In addition, some people are selling their used cards cheap on craigslist, if you can find a name-brand GTX 970 for $160 or less I'd pick that up.
