Ideal idle GPU core clock? (Regarding Strix 1070)

Bought my Asus Strix 1070 OC on August 2, 2016. No issues for the first several weeks. Noticed yesterday that it was idling at 1632 MHz (base clock) and the fans were ramping up and down constantly. Changing power settings in NVIDIA control panel didn't do anything. Did a safe mode DDU and fresh driver (372.70) installation. Now it idles at 278 MHz with random spikes to 1632.

Have included GPU Z screenshots

Should I be concerned?

PC SPECS:
Two ASUS 27 inch, 1080p monitors
CPU: i5 4460
RAM: 8 gigs DDR3 1600
MOBO: Asus H87

Solution
If you have set a custom overclock profile for your card be sure to only enable it when you plan to take advantage of the OC. Otherwise for all other uses keep all clock profile settings at default.

Many applications, other than games, use GPU acceleration(Firefox, for example). Every time they take advantage of it you'll see a spike in your core clock.

As long as your idle clocks don't stay at 1600 at all times there is nothing to worry.
