Black screen when running high end games

So as the title suggests, I get a black screen every time I try running high end games (e.g. Overwatch, Dragon Age Inquisition, Witcher 3 etc) and I've been able to run those games without a problem before, not to mention it can still run games such as Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas without a problem. The display just doesnt work anymore even though my CPU is still running (I can even shut down the computer normally by memorizing the keyboard keys to shut it down). It only goes back to normal if I cut off the power source and hard reset the entire system.

My PC is just 1 year and 8 months old. When I took it to a Computer shop for repair, they reformatted it to see if it was a software problem. Unfortunately the problem still persisted afterwards.

I've updated everything. My ASUS Bios, my GPU Drivers and everything else I could google. When I took out my GPU and let the computer run the on board graphics card (Intel 4600 HD) the black screens stopped but of course my games have crappy textures now.

Here's my setup:
CPU - Intel Core i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz
Mobo - Asus H81M-K
GPU - STRIX-GTX750TI-OC-2GD5
RAM - HyperX Fury 8gb x 1 DDR3 798.1MHz
HDD - TOSHIBA 500GB
PSU - Super Cool Intex ATX Switching Power Supply 500Watt (ATX 2.03)

Can anyone confirm whether it really is my GPU thats the problem? And if it is, what caused it to decay so fast? (I mean come on, a little over a year and a half? Thats BS)

I appreciate any and all help you can give me. I'm clutching at straws. And if it helps, I've begun to suspect my PSU to be the culprit. The 5V rail's load in the BIOS is 5.36V which according to most sites is over the acceptable range.

That sounds like the PSU. Get a new one. Also, it wouldn't hurt to upgrade your GPU as that card isn't up to snuff much for the newest games anymore.
I recommend a gold rated PSU for your upgrade. and if you plan on putting a new card in at some point make sure to get a 550-600w psu. here is a good one I recommend.

My guess is that it's your GPU. There's a remote chance it could be your power supply, or some problem with the PCIe slot, but the GPU is the most likely culprit. Your power supply is more likely to cause instability and crashing, than for your GPU's video output to quit.

If another GPU works in the slot, that will basically confirm that your GPU is at fault.

Update on this post:

My PC has now stopped powering up. When I try to turn it on, only a green light can be seen on the motherboard and the cpu still vibrates a bit. Would this be a confirmation that the PSU was the problem all along?
