Notebook Asus X553M.

Laptop started to randomly freeze. For some weird reason it could be temporarily fixed by opening a youtube playlist in the background or for example open runescape(game) in the background. And it would make the computer not freeze.

First I tried to do a fresh "Windows 10" install. But the laptop froze pretty much right after logging in. And for example changing settings.

Searched around and found that maybe it's a RAM issue. So I tried doing the memtest86.

Here are pictures of the results:

It's a little interesting that the address is only 0x0.

As I have errors I guess I need to buy a new RAM stick. So I looked around and found a few options. But I'm not sure if I should buy the DDR3 or DDR3L. Checked that if the RAM is PC3L it needs DDR3L but if it is PC3 then DDR3 should be good. In the picture you can see that it is "PC3-12800 DDR3 1600MHz". So It seems that DDR3 should be good right? But I wanted to ask just to be sure.

Thanks for help!

The answer to my second question is that you shouldn't believe what the RAM info says. It was actually an PC3L ram, so I need DDR3L ram for this laptop.

Bought new ram. Still getting the same error results. Checked the ram in other laptop, no errors there. So is something wrong with the CPU or what?

Running it in safe mode seems to fix the problem. At least for now I have not experienced freezing.

I ran the Intel Processor diagnostics tools and it had "IMC test" a pass. And for a shocker right now, the computer dosnt seem to freeze. Atleast for now. Any other ideas?
