I just installed a known to be working 8320 on a new Asus Aurora 970 motherboard. I keep getting the message that a " new cpu installed! Please enter setup to configure your system." I loaded optimized defaults, same message. Reseated CPU three times. same message. Removed paste twice and reapplied, same message. Made some minor changes in Bios just to stop the message that I have not made any changes upon Exiting Bios, still getting same message. Any ideas?

I saw that, removed processor several times. Is that link saying I have to replace the motherboard? To a Gigabyte? That;s what i got from it.

I tried going to boot options, clicked the usb my windows is on, and it installed windows. but every time it restarts, I get the same message about being a new CPU. if it was a bent processor, I don't see how it would be able to install windows. It seems to be fully working, it just has issue at start up.

Yes, each time. Several times it told me I had not made changes, so I made minor changes just to stop that message and feel like I fulfilled what it is asking me to do. It's a pain in the rump.

Have decided that the board is garbage. I pulled the processor off of a working board, with the same liquid cooler, and installed on this board. Never have had an issue like this before.
I'll stick with MSI from now on and add this new board to the pile of many products I have purchased from the sunny side up store and not go through the hassle of an RMA.
Thank you anyway.
