I have today a Cooler Master 500W PSU thats currently running my rig:
Intel i5 4690k
MSI Z97 g3
HyperX Fury 16gb ram
GTX 970
CoolerMaster nepton 240m
+ Some additional fans for cooling my rig.

I'm planning to do a series of upgrades (gtx 1070, i7 5820k, motherboard ASUS x99-A II).

Will my PSU be enough or should i invest into a 650w or more?

Thanks in advance!

not sure about the model of your PSU, some CM PSUs are crap.
Anyway -> you will not see any noticeable gaming upgrade from 4690 to 5820.
I'd just put a GTX 1070/1080 in your rig + (if your PSU happens to be less good) decent PSU like Corsair RM650x.
