APC 1KVa ups

I have APC 1 kva ups double battery. Its giving me 30 minutes of battery backup. but while i only running my router its automatically shout down within 5 minutes. My router is iball baton and its power input is 100-240v, 50hz, 0.3A and output is 5V-1A. What is happening with the ups.
Please help.....

How old is it? The batteries in those things wear out over time.

The router is not drawing enough power from the UPS.

The UPS sees "no load" so it shuts itself down because there is no PC connected to it.

Is the UPS set to shutoff after 5 minutes of AC power loss? Batteries do age, and the numbers are a bit of a prediction (most so on consumer grade units) What is the UPS powering?

Its new. And for the battery I already told that i am getting 30 min backup with my desktop connected to it. But If i only connect the router ups automatically shut down within 5 minits.

Is there any way to run the router on ups. Because in my area power cut is about 2-3 hrs.

If there is software for that UPS install that and you maybe able to change that setting to prevent it from doing it, or if it has a web interface connect a network cable and change it there.

If there is software it would be on APC's website (I think it is called PowerShute), search your model on there and download the software, chances are as I doubt this is an enterprise unit, that you will need a USB cable to connect it to your PC.

According to documentation this model came with a specific USB cable that plugs into a jack that looks like an ethernet jack on the top right of the back of the unit. You need to plug this in and connect it to your PC and then run the Powerchute pro (which came with it) software. When you do that you can configure it to not shut off with no load.

Also check out page 4 of the manual, it looks like the unit has a power saving feature you may have this turned on which may be causing your issue as well. It looks like you can change this without plugging the unit in.

You will need to simulate a higher load on the UPS in order for it to stay on.
Perhaps plug in a laptop to charge or you'll need to modify it somehow.
