Ok I need some REAL help. I have a HP Pavilion p7-1110...
CPU 2nd gen i3 2120
Pegatron 2 ac2 2.0 h61
pce i 2.0 16x slot
PSU 500w (just installed and working great)

I bought a Zotac geforce gtx 950 gpu installed it but it would not work. Computer came on, load screen came on then it froze up after beeping a couple of times. I powered down, took the card out, and started my system again without the card and it worked fine. Put the card back in and the same thing happened. Called Zotac and was told to contact HP because some mother boards have upgrade limitations.

Any suggestions from all of you who are smarter than me :)

Here is my update......

Basically nothing above a 6xx series will work with my system. The MOBO bios will not support it.

Looking on line I was looking for a GTX 650, they are few and very expensive if you want to buy them new. Newegg no longer has them. Same for the GTX 550 ti. I am not paying $200 for an old GPU no matter how desperate I am.

So the only 6xx series GPU I could find locally (via Micro Center) was a EVGA GE Force GT 610. <sigh> I know.....it isn't a gaming card :(

But get this....it works. Go figure!!!!

I Play WoW Legion. My old GPU (Intel HD 2000 integrated) was just crap.... 8 to 15 fps. I have played WoW since Catty and this rig ran an easy 30 - 40 fps.

Now with this new card I got 60+ fps, but the screen image was rough around the edges to say the least. Reminded me of aome really old floppy based games. I made a few in game adjustments and I am currently getting 30 - 40 fps again. So the game is playable.

So my new question is this....

If nothing more than a Nivida 6xx series card will work with my system, would it be possible for a GT 740 to work since it is just a rebranded GTX 650?

I am seriously thinking about trying, whats your take?
