Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 8GB G1 Gaming
EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular
Samsung 850 EVO SSD
SilentiumPC Fortis 3 HE1425
NZXT s340
I'm having trouble with installing these parts, the system won't start at all, I can only hear a clicking sound when I push the power button. The power led in the motherboard lights up. Neither the case power button nor the motherboard power button powers up the computer.
I've done the following:
- Attached the motherboard in the case
- Installed the cpu with the fan in the motherboard
- Installed the rams into slots 1b and 2b (also tried 1a+2a, 2a+2b, and just one 8gb piece in 1b)
- Tried with the GTX 1080 and just the integrated gpu
- Attached the cpu fan in the CPU_FAN slot, also tried CPU_OPT
- Tried the chassis fan in the slots CHA_FAN1, CHA_FAN2 and CHA_FAN4 (couldn't reach CHA_FAN3)
- Attached the 8-pin CPU power connector and the 24-pin motherboard power connector
I went through all the steps in this post: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems
I even sent the parts back to the seller, they replied that they had tested them and there was no problem. What am I missing? Thanks.
