Hi Guys,

I am looking to upgrade my i5 3570k setup to a new i7 6700k setup. I just wanted to know if the parts I was looking at would be compatible.

Case: HAF 932 Advanced (Already bought)
Motherboard: ASUS Z170-A
CPU: i7 6700k (Already bought)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 280L
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 RAM
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 980TI LIGHTNING (Already bought)
Power Supply: Corsair TX750m 750W (Already bought)

I'm mainly concerned whether the CPU cooler would fit in my case. Would my current power supply of 750w be enough for upgrading to i7 6700k with liquid cooling and overclocking? I am also open to suggestions for different kinds of RAM, motherboards, or even coolers.

Thanks!

I prefer Air-Cooling if looks don't bother you. They are normally quieter and keep them just as cool and you never have to worry about leaks or the pump failing. The RAM you have listed is low profile so a NH-D15 would be fine IMO.

I don't know about the CPU Cooler, it's stated that it supports only the socket LGA 1150 not the 1151 that is your CPU so i don't know if that will work.
I'd consider another cooler just to be sure. I might be wrong tho.

The corsair aren't very well-known for they PSU, but since you've already bought them. I'd recommend not to overclock the CPU too much, but since the PSU is 750W it should hold on it's own properly.

The RAM you're buying are 2400 Ram, but your CPU only supports 2133 so you're paying more to receive less than expected. You'll have to tune it down a bit.

About all the rest, everything is perfectly fine!

Oh, nice. The website he linked didn't show the 1150 so i wrote that, thanks for checking deeper ^^
All my other points are still valid tho, check them out OP.

The RAM is fine, on Z-170 chipset you can overclock past 4000mhz on the RAM if it's a decent board.

Yeah IIRC the H100 has 5 year warranty and is from Corsair, I'd prefer that if it was me.

I was reading that closed looped water coolers arent the best. Would getting a Noctua NH-D15 or NH-D14 be better? I would just need to know if it would fit in my case with my RAM.

Would the D15 fit in my case even with a 980ti lightning?

The GPU has nothing to do with it, just the space between motherboard and the side of the case and the RAM clearance, I'd say it'll fit.

Perfect, thanks everyone for your input. I bought a Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 ATX LGA1151 motherboard and Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-2666 RAM with a Noctua NH-D15 cpu cooler.
