PowerColor PCS+ Radeon R9 380 DirectX 12 AXR9 380 4GBD5-PPDHE 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support ATX Video
ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990X + SB950 6 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), gray USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan
Paragon migrate to ssd
EVGA SUPERNOVA 750 G1 80 PLUS GOLD CERTIFIED 750W MODULAR POWER SUPPLY 135MM FAN 10YR WTY

In May, it began having issues with power going off, it seems to be related to the power switch connection as slight pressure on the board causes power to go off/on again, direct pressure on the power pin portion of the board will keep it on...sometimes. The switch tests o.k.

It has been to ASUS for repair twice, and each time it is in exactly the same condition when it returns.

Small changes can cause it to fail (moving the case from horizontal to vertical...transporting it...)

Any suggestions? I've already spent far more time than the board is worth...but money is tight.

It is possible that we have found the issue. A friend looked it over, and found a loose power cable, now it seems happy to run.

I believe I was so focused on the switch location issue, I overlooked the fact that it also happened when I pushed down on the card slots....

If it stays running, the issue is closed. (And I owe an apology to ASUS!)
