I need some help understanding water cooling.

I am looking into getting a NZXT Kraken X61. I did some research on it, and it seems pretty easy, but do I need to buy coolant for the system?

No, that is a closed-loop cooler; the coolant is already in the system. Also, you will never have to replace or "top off" the coolant: There is no way to do that. My Corsair H50 has run just fine for nearly 6 years, you should get good life span from the NZXT.
Of concern, though: will the radiator fit into your case? Might need to check case specs to be sure it will mount in there.
