Why does my computer get high ping in games when connected to a Mobile Hotspot with good speed

Sometimes my internet speed on my router just crashes randomly or completely slows down to the point i get unplayable ping in video games . so I thought I could use my mobile hotspot on my phone. When my computer is connected to my hotspot it gets 20+Mbps Down and 15+ Mbps Up and about 40 ping( used http://www.speedtest.net/). So why is it when i actually play a game i get 100+ ping even though I have these speeds

Unless you happen to select a ping test site in the same exact data center as you game server the numbers you see from ping test sites doesn't matter. Try a test site in Australia...assuming you don't live in Austrialia...you will get significantly higher number than when you test with a server closer to your house.

This has nothing to do with it being mobile broadband or how much bandwidth the connection is.

So even though I tested my ping to be 40 ms across several ping test websites, that doesn't guarantee i will get that ping in game servers?
