Im looking to upgrade my GPU because my 970 has been having issues lately (Averaging 150 frames and dropping to 50 in<removed>CS:GO) And I was wondering if my current components will bottleneck the new GPU, also any advice on my gpu problem is welcome

The bottleneck will depend on the game and the resolution. In CSGO for example you may not see much FPS improvement.

You sure it's the GPU causing the drops? The FX 9xxx series aren't exactly known for being stable(even at stock clocks). Seen similar issues with drops being cause by the cpu throttling. Try monitoring your cpu frequency and see where it's at when the drops occur.

If you have the money to get a 1070 or 1080 then I recommend you get rid of the old AM3+ platform now instead of upgrading your gpu. Your cpu is likely your problem anyway, and yes it would be a huge bottleneck with a more powerful video card.
