Any little change in amd overdrive results in a freeze or a crash. changing the mhz just a hair and saving makes screen black. i also tried some settings in the bios on a video by jayz2cents on overclocking an amd and it crashed only pushing it from 200 to 220. increasing the voltage along with mhz, still crashes. what am i doing wrong?

i have hyper 212 evo and a
asus 970 pro motherboard.

Solution
Change multiplier only in BIOS, if you OC by FSB everything else OCs too, including NB, memory and buses.
Set all power saving and turbo modes off . Everything pertaining to CPU should be set on manual and raise CPU voltage as necessary. Go in smallest steps and check temperatures and voltages at every step while running a torture test and/or benchmarks.
