Ping spikes lasting for 3 seconds happening every 10 - 15 seconds

So I have a cabled internet into my PC as it doesn't support wireless connections. But recently I been experiencing ping spikes for around 3 seconds - 5 seconds long every 10 - 15 seconds. This is mostly in video games. When I'm watching say a YouTube video it is completely fine. My ping in games goes from 30 - 120 then back down. I have also been experiencing a large drop in frames whilst playing also. Internet is fine on all other devices in my house.

Hope you guys can help!

PC Specs:
Hp Pro desk 400 g1 sff with upgraded ram to 12gb instead of 4gb.

Sky internet, 100mb Ethernet cable.

I have tried using programs to clean my registry, doing dns flushing, I have tried virus and malware scans. Please help me!

The only real difference between a game and most other programs is the amount of video they use. They also use lots of cpu but most times it is video. Then again in your case I suspect you are using the intergated video which make the cpu and the video kinda the same thing.

I would see if there are newer video drivers for your machine.

The game may be telling lies...ping in many games is actually measuring much more than just network delays. Because it is generally does not actually use the ping command it is including a lot of the game overhead in both the server and client end. This is a good thing to a point since it does represent how well a game is running.

So first thing is to open the resource monitor and look at the various tabs. You want to see the network utilization as well as thing like your cpu usage. You want to see if anything corresponds to the delays you are seeing...it can even be disk or memory issues.

You can also run a actual ping command to the game server or 8.8.8.8 from a cmd window in the background. You could then compare the number in this window with what the game says.

Also since you are seeing frame drops I would try to turn all the game video option off you can and set everything as low as possible just as a test. Many times the video in games overload the machine and it will show up as ping spikes.

Im get lag in the games though not just seeing my ping spike. And for my fps spiking everything is on low/medium like its always been. These problem have all only just started within the last 2 days.

It has to be the game in some way though. Because other devices are not affected it means you internet connection itself is not having issues. Maybe try to leave a ping running on another device to confirm that device sees no problems when your game lags. You need to be sure you are chasing the right problem. Because things like youtube run fine and that take a lot more bandwidth than a game it also points to it being the game and not a actual network problem.

Only other thing might be is if you have a very small internet connection you might be exceeding your upload rates. Game use much more upload than most other apps but it is generally well under 500kbs. Check the resource monitor to see how much you are sending and compare that to what you get for upload rates on a speedtest site.

This has been happening in all my games! Browsing internet works, doing things on my desktop works, doing programs work, skype and teamspeak work fine, its only my games when im having problems. Speedtest.net results: 13 ping, 26 mbps download, 5 mbps upload. Here are some screenshots of my task manager so you can see if anything is wrong:
