Solution
I have several Corsair VS450 power supplies in my internet cafe. They're really cheap in my country, and they work well on low power PCs even with 24/7 use. I have them for 3 years now. Despite the mesh cables, and the really nice matte texture of the power supply, you can immediately tell from the weight that they are low quality units. For a home PC like that, I wouldn't suggest a VS550. Get a SeaSonic S12II 520 or XFX TS 550 instead. They have better quality than VS550, albeit more expensive.
