GeForce 9600GT Without PCI Power?

so i just upgraded pc, and i found out that my Geforce 9600GT Silent works without PCI power(6 pin connector) but i upgraded to a corsair CX 600 and that does have a PCI power connector. Do i really need to connect it?

Both the 9600 and the 9800 came out with the 6 pin connector, later models didn't require it. As long as it works, it should be fine. However, if you notice any graphical issues or sudden freezes, you might want to plug it in.
