Hello, i have MOBO dell model:0krc95 chipset:Q77 and 2 x 2GB RAM 1333 and i want to upgrade ram to 8G, should i buy 1x4GB and put it with other 2x2G or buy 1x8GB or 2x4GB and how to install dual channel?

You can populate all 4 of your slots with 4GB of DDR3 1600MHz ram each giving you a total of 16GB 's of maximum ram upgrade. I would advise against mixing and matching sticks of ram while going for one stick of ram will only mean you will need to get rid of your existing 2x2GB kit on your system.

When you install ram in any two slots on your motherboard

menaing slots 1 and 2, you achieve dual channel memory mode. If you have all four slots populated by a kit(e.g 4x4GB) then both banks of ram are in dual channel.

I am in a similar situation, i have 2x2GB of DDR3 1333GHZ RAM and want to have a total of 8GB. Its cheaper to buy 1x4GB RAM than buying 2x2GB RAM. Should i duplicate my current setup (2x2GB) or buy 1x4GB instead and still have an additional channel for a further upgrade?
