My pc specs are a 6700k on a gigabyte z170matx gaming 5, 32gb 3200 ram gtx 980 ti, 1300 watt psu, samsung 850 evo, and a asus ac68 wifi card. Im running win 10 64bit. I keep constant checks on my temps and everything worked perfectly til i installed this sound card.
Last night I installed this card into my gaming rig. I installed the drivers off the CD and it wouldnt work ( yes I had changed to headphones on SOAR in playback devices). (I also had plugged a 6 pin power to the card as well). But when I changed back to front panel in settings and plugged in my headphones into the front panel they worked fine.
After uninstalling ANY AND ALL audio drivers (including nvidia and realtek) and reinstalling only the asus software (from their website not the included cd) could i get it to work. But now my audio is randomly really choppy and any volume or audio menus get real laggy. I'll game/ watch youtube with audio for 5 secs and lose 2 secs but the times fluctuate greatly. Also streaming videos get laggy as well on youtube come to think of it.
Does anyone have any tips on what my problem is? Thanks for reading, even if you don't have anything to post. I'm hoping this is something simple I'm overlooking.
