Hi there, so i am a novice when it comes to PC tech in general, i have an alienware X51 with these specs:

Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i5 3330 @ 3.00GHz 62 °C
Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology
RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)
Motherboard
Alienware 06G6JW (CPU 1) 64 °C
Graphics
HP 27xw (1920x1080@59Hz)
Intel HD Graphics (Dell)
1535MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (NVIDIA) 44 °C
Storage
931GB Western Digital WDC WD10EZEX-75ZF5A0 (SATA) 38 °C
Optical Drives
PLDS DVD+-RW DL-8A4SH

Normally my PC has worked fine for gaming but recently every single game i try on Steam has been sluggish and with terrible frame rates. I have tried running anti-malware software, disassembling the PC to clean the insides, and many online forums. I want to have my PC in top shape for the coming months when big game titles like Battlefield 1 come out, i want my PC to be able to handle it. Any suggestions? Do i need to upgrade something perhaps?

Solution
I say you should update your graphics card, and maybe CPU because the Battlefield series is CPU intensive. Get an RX 470 4GB at least, if you're playing at 1080p. A better graphics card (for more money) would be the RX480 or GTX 1060 6GB. For CPUs, I would say get the i3-6100 or if you're willing to spend more, the I5-6402P or i5-6500

Because of this, you would have to get a new motherboard (don't worry about z170 if you are not getting an overclockable CPU, therefore any CPU with a k such as 6600k) and ram (only GB really matters, and past 16 GB is stupid right now. Also, DDR4 is cheaper right now), it's your choice. There are other things too, but this is what I recommend.

Also in the future, never buy from Alienware. They sell...
