After building a new computer, it doesn't beep and nothing appears on the monitor. This is about my 6th computer I've built so I'm better than a beginner but no pro.
Details on what I've tried below. What should I try next?
- Build a computer with this bundle: newegg bundle
- As you can see, fans and lights come on. The graphics card lights up
- The graphics card fans spin for 1 second every 3 seconds. I know it's not hot enough to warrant a good spin, but is it normal that they consistently stop and start constantly?
- The graphics card wants two 8 pin power supplies. Here you can see. It's technically a single cable that splits into multiple ends, as most of the power cables have. Is this ok?
- I've tried both PCI express 16 slots. It fits in pretty well; it looks like it's the tiniest bit crooked as the metal piece connecting to the back won't let me push down anymore. It's all far enough in that I can't see any copper color for sure.
- I think I put the tiny little speaker in the right place on the motherboard? I tried reversing it. (It's the red cable in the center...hard to see, I know)
- I tried booting with only 1 ram slot taken, and different slots.
- The processor doesn't have a power cable other than its fan. And the manual confirms that. Is that possible?
- I've tested HDMI and DVI with two different monitors from the video card. The motherboard doesn't have any display outputs to test.
What should I try next? Thank you.
