Hello, I'm hoping I can get some advice regarding my current situation. I've run into a lot of issues and these forums have helped me out a lot so I decided to make an account :). All help will be greatly appreciated!

For the past couple of days my computer has been shutting down after about 10-15 minutes of heavy load (resulting from playing Overwatch). The computer will instantly shut down without warning and will not restart for about 10-15 minutes. It attempts to restart after failing which results in all the fans spinning for one second every three seconds accompanied by the lights from my graphics turning off and on. I am almost certain that the PSU is what is failing considering I have issues with it shutting off without warning. I have replaced the motherboard, ram, and tested the processor using intel's diagnostic tool and I am still having the same issue.

I used my computer for gaming heavily over the past week and a half which consisted of about 10-15 hours of Overwatch per day. If I want to continue with this pattern of gaming what grade power supply will I need? I'm assuming I burned out the one I currently have because it's not meant for gaming and rated tier 4 on the PSU tier list. (I didn't know about the tier list a friend suggested the Corsair CX750 wish I knew about it sooner)

I'm somewhat limited to my choices because I am sort of impatient considering I have gone about 3 days without any sort of gaming. The electronics store near me currently has a Corsair RMi Series PSU RM750i 750 Watt in stock so if that is sufficient I would like to purchase that if not I will order one off of Newegg and try to get a life for a couple of days.

My current build consists of the following :

CPU : Intel i5-6500 3.2 GHz Quad Core
Cooler : Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Motherboard : Gigabyte GA-H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151
RAM : G.Skill Aegis (2x8gb) DDR4 2133
Storage : Samsung 850 EVO 500gb SSD
Video Card : Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 4gb
Power Supply : Corsair CX750 (Dead?)
Operating System : Windows 10 64 bit

Budget for new PSU : $200~

I might be wrong, but AFAIK, the RMx is designed differently and is a bit better in terms of performance.
Component quality is the same.
450-550W will be more than enough for your build. you won't reach 300W load

EVGA Supernova G2 / GS
Corsair RMi/x / Hx / Ax
Seasonic G
XFX TS Gold / XTR
Antec HCG

if you're on a budget:
XFX TS Bronze / bronze fully wired / Core edition
Seasonic S12II / M12II / S12

the difference between the RMi and the RMx is only the Corsair link thingy? Or am I wrong?

I originally had a Cooler Master 550 W PSU and my computer wouldn't boot up. The fans would run for one second every three seconds like it is currently doing. When I swapped it out for a 750W PSU it worked fine. (Both were brand new) What could have caused the 550 to not work?
