Deciding between these two Power supply units for the gaming rig I am buying. The parts I'm considering buying includes;

CPU: Intel Core Skylake Processor i5-6500/3.2 GHz
Motherboard: MSI B150M MORTAR Intel Socket 1151
Wifi adapter: Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I PCI-Express x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter
GPU: XFX Radeon RX 480 OC 1288mhz XXX Edition Backplate 8GB GDDR5
Ram: HyperX Fury 16GB (2X8GB) DDR4 2133MHz
Storage: Seagate Desktop SSHD 1TB SATA III 3.5"
Case: Corsair CC-9011023-WW Carbide Series 200R Compact ATX Performance Computer Case

Also which one would be more safer for me to crossfire or is there not enough power on the two PSU? Planning to crossfire in the near future (when graphics demand more)

No contest the EVGA G2 is far superior.

If you want to CF go to the 650W G2 or RMx 650w.

It's the best 550w PSU on the market based on the award winning Super Flower Leadex Gold series with a 7 year warranty.

550W G2 review.

Performance (40% of the final score) - you probably already know what I'm going to say here. Voltage regulation was excellent, averaging 0.9% in the hot box. No points deducted. Efficiency was a pass for Gold both times. No deduction. Ripple control was amazing, and probably the best I've ever seen, so definitely no deduction...

Efficiency was a pass for Gold both times. No deduction. Ripple control was amazing, and probably the best I've ever seen, so definitely no deduction there. I saw no issues with anything else, so this unit gets a 10 here.

Functionality (20% of the final score) - this unit gets everything right. Even the CPU cable, which I thought was terrible on the 650W, is done right here today. Semi fanless mode works well, the manual is decent, we got lots of connectors to power anything a 550W unit should power, and the box came with more goodies than I tend to expect with such a small unit. 10.

Value (20% of the final score) - you can get one of these for $84.99 at Newegg right now. That's a fair bit for a unit this size these days, but as always EVGA is right at the bottom of the cost pile when it comes to 80 Plus Gold and full modularity. The nearest competition is their own 550W GS unit at one dollar more money. This is nuts. How are you making any money on these, EVGA? 10.

Build Quality (20% of the final score) - oh, snap... EVGA just got another perfect total score. There's nothing wrong with this unit. Nothing. 10.

If going for crossfire get an atx motherboard for it as well, means better spacing between the pcie slots. The motherboard chosen here makes that the second card really overhangs the underside of the mobo with all of it's connectors. I also would recommend going for a board that can do sli, which means both pcie sots will run at x8.

I will defo go with the evga g2 650 W now it will help me in the future if I do decide to go for another build with the same PSU. Also I heard from a retailer here that I can get a 10 year warranty with the PSU which is more than enough for me. Thanks for linking me to the external page :)

Only problem with getting another motherboard is that it might exceed my budget which is why I rather go for a cheaper board. Though is there another motherboard around the same price point of the one I have in the OP? I will not be going for SLI as the cheapest one from what I seen here is a lot more expensive I'm looking to go for a MSI 480 as well and that was said that it is one of the coolest gpu for the 480's line up.

Problem with that is there is no 550 in stock so I don't mind spending a bit more for the 650

With lots of Microstutter, he'd be better off with a 1070

Trust me I've done Crossfire before and never again :shudders:

I would look atleast at something like this,
http://pcpartpicker.com/product/wBZ2FT/gigabyte-motherboard-gah170gaming3
the second slot is still x4 but pcie 3.0 standard so imo no bottlenck.A better spacing between the pcie slots.

I know you chose AMD,so didn't go for sli, just wanted to have both slots work at x8 with two cards, but the x4 slot with standard 3.0 will do fine as well.
