I am in need of EXPERT advise plz... My Issues are as follows:

1) Due to this build.., I have become an avid Fallout 4 gamer And I want this machine to deal with the abuse of 6-10 hours of gaming at high resolutions. The video card I have chosen, I believe is the worst one for this Idea. It, after 3 hours in Fallout 4, pops out red, green, blue square pixels in any object in the game that is somewhat off a distance in the actual game play. I can get my character to walk up to it and after a few seconds.., the actual objects colors return to normal.

I used to be a fan of ASUS and radeon cards..., but this card has burnt me out on them and I am leaning towards the Nividia GTX series cards.... The card does great at everyday things...., but when it comes to gaming.., it, after a few hours, just ticks me off.

SO what would be a better recommendation for the price range of 200 to 400 bucks for a newer video card - it must be able to hand with some newer games and be able to handle 1080p resolutions ??? I can also do dual cards if they can work together and smash ANY Game graphics I can toss at it.... BUT I do prefer only one card that can handle it all and still smash any game graphics....

2) Can you recommend some better system memory upgrade that my motherboard can handle?

3) The drives I've chosen for dvd copying. I don't think they are up to the task either. They flake out on any DVD9 dvd's. I've tried several different versions of dvd from imation, riotech, Sony, etc..., all will fail on any data burns and or dvd burns....They work as expected on DVD5's though...

Any Ideas of which way I need to go on this as well ??

4) If you were to change anything in this pc.., what would it be ??

a) My plans on upgrading a few things... change out the C:\ SSD Drive to a larger SSD one.. 940Gig
b) upgrade system memory to its max of 32 gig
c) upgrade other drives to 940 gig ssd drives or to raptor drive - 1tb

Many thanks for the advise and the technical info on which way I should go.

Thanks,
Allen

1. Gtx 1060 or 1070 , I'd argue the rx480 is as good a choice as the 1060 but if you want nvidia those are your choices

2. Your ram is fine , you could run 2133 but it's pointless as outside of benchmarks performance will be exactly the same

3.The Asus drives are fine - buy verbatim dual layer media, everything else is sketchy quality at best.

4.drive configuration is upto you , I don't know how you're managing with 120gb ssd space though personally.

I'm running a 480gb hyperx ssd & 3 x3tb toshiba drives .
2 of the toshiba are in raid 0 & used exclusively for game storage , read speeds/game load tines are close enough to ssd speed to warrant only having a single ssd.
The other 3tb is used for downloads & data backup.
Its a system...

1) Check the settings on fallout 4 and move them to a higher setting. Next run some diagnostic on memory and the video card to rule out any problems with it. Also verify your steam download. For a new card I would go for Nvidea. Nvidea runs cooler and the drivers are not a pain to update [Remember to update the driver (Geforce Experience) after installing off the disk]. I would say save and get the EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB

2) An upgrade should not be needed unless you are running VMs. 32GBs is the max I would upgrade to, but when you are in the middle of the game check performance on task manager.

3)Most drives will work (Don't know why these are not). Just remember to look for DVD or Bluray RW Rewritable, Keep in mind that discs can only be written once, unless they are DVD+RW.

4) a) Larger SSD (1 TB), That will be expensive and you should be storing only programs on the SSD, not games. Since the size of games most people use their D or E drives.
B) look at 2)
C) Other drives do not need the speed of an SSD. A raptor should be fine, Remember to backup.

Many Thanks on your reply... I will look into the video cards you suggested....

IF i do decide to go back to the radeon series rx480.., will it walk thru any graphics I could toss at it ? Example... fallout 4 -> setting off 250 mini nukes at one time and not slow down ???

I plan on getting the 1060 come Holiday season. The 3gb is about $200, and the 6gb is around $300.

I want a 1080... BUT the 1080 and 1070 are out of my budget at the moment.... but if push comes to shove to get a game to have explosions that wont lag and objects that wont pixelize..., I'll spend what is needed to get this thing to work like I want....

I beg to differ..... but this is how it normally runs..... I just took a snapshot of it in progress while I am on here and playing fo4....

"BTW there is no way a Asus dc2 280 can sit below 50c on a gaming load , 62-70c is normal."

But that card is plainly not under a gaming load with only 16% vram being used.
