My new case has 4 case fans, which each require a molex power supply, however my PSU only has 3 molex heads, should I get a molex splitter, and are they safe to use? The splitter will be powering two 60mm fans, will using the adapter still make them spin at normal speeds, but draw 2x power?

Also I found a adapter lying around, and taken some photos here http://imgur.com/a/K5SvU

Looks to me like a female-female molex to 3 pin fan adapter, but never seen one like this before. If it is a molex to fan, am I able to connect one fan to the mobo using this adapter?

Solution
Usually fans have 3 or 4 pin motherboard connections and require adaptors to use molex. Connecting the fans to your motherboard is FAR preferable to using molex as the motherboard can control the speed.

If you do use molex adaptors to run the fans you can just plug them into eachother, fans draw very little power, you could piggyback them all off eachother and not have a problem.
