using to much memory?

Hey guys,

my memory seems to be blowing up even when im idle

is chrome even meant to use that much and my razer synapse is using a lot too... is this normal?

seems i need at least 8 gb to use for normal day to day uses (email/web browsing)

A single chrome.exe is almost 1gb, that's way too high.

You might be using some extensions which are causing chrome to take this much. Here're some tips from google to free up some memory. See if it works for you: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/6152583?hl=en

Definitely down to the Extension use - check how many are running/active in Chrome & close down any you do not use or don't absolutely need.

I find Chrome quite 'heavy' as a Browser - you have other options such as Firefox, or even Opera (Opera I strongly recommend for more reasons I have time to explain).

Give it a go or disable certain extensions and you'll see your usage drop.

if ur running 10 using chrome delete chrome i have had it knock out desktops & laptops iys a bugged mess use edge with 10 is a recommendation from someone whos fixed a few issues due to chrome bugs

stopped using google chrome and now this is my current situation...apparently still need 6gb ram to sit idle

and I have closed a few memory gushing programs like razer synapse and so on.
What is this searchUI also?
I don't see the problem here but it still persists

What are you doing in your browser? A game? Searchui is cortana. I can also see you have lol running. Task manager is easier to see than resource monitor honestly. Just click the memory tab in processes to order it by mem usage.

and I wasn't playing the game just browsing through the LoL shop

That's not processes in task manager but it's really not needed. I was just saying for future screenshots. We already know you have high usage in multiple programs but it's not clear why. In chrome, hit shift+esc and we'll see what tabs and extensions are using what.
