I have a budget of $1700 and I want to build a PC that is able to play everything in 1440p (some of that money going to a new monitor that I would like to to recommend as well). A little fun challenge for you guys that will actually help me out a ton.

Solution
I've got two options here.
The first is a great value option, features an IPS 1440p 144hz monitor and a 1070, which I believe is the better choice here.
The second features a G-Sync 1440p 144hz TN monitor but costs $100 more.
Up to you which you decide to go with OP.

3) What will you use the machine for mostly?
4) Do you plan to overclock?
5) Which of the following do you need included in that budget?
