Booting Linux mint

I try booting this older computer with a Linux mint disk and it comes up and says "this kernel requires anx86-64 CPU, but only detected an I686 CPU." I have tried ubuntu,mint and kali in 32 and 64 bit variations and it still says that same message. Please help I have no idea. Thank you!!

Might help if we new the specs of your "older" system.

Edit: A quick Google states you need to enter your BIOS and enable either Intel VT-x/AMD-V depending on which motherboard/processor you have.

It's an intel processor running at 3ghz. Sorry I don't know it's name. I have been looking through my bios and it doesn't have an intel VT or AMD v options

Look for "Virtualization" or "Virtualization Technology" (not those silly acronyms) in your bios and enable it.

Okay I'll check but I don't believe it has a virtualization setting in its bios.

You can download and install HWInfo so you can detail what processor and motherboard you have.
