Using a 4TB HGST Deskstar NAS for gaming and programs?

I'm looking to get this hard drive. I'll be using it to run games and programs off of, rather than in a NAS. I wanted to know if this is a good hard drive to use for those purposes or if I should buy a different one. Thanks!

NAS drives do not tend to be optimized for blazing fast access times. No reason for it to not work, but the performance may not be great.

WDC Blacks are my goto, but if you can get SSDs it is best. Even a slow SSD is WAY faster than a fast hard drive(because of access times).
