intel cpu should i buy ? 2011 v3 cpu or 1151 cpu ?

im planning to upgrade my pc this christmas and im so confuse now

if i upgrade my pc to lga 2011 v3 i would be fine if since i dont have to buy mobo anymore for future upgrade since x99 is the only socket that fit the intel E-series or what ever but at the cost of REALLY high !

but if i upgrade my rig into 6th gen line it cost less and great in performance too maybe ? (coz it depends on your build) somebody answer me :/

Depends, if you're editing/rendering get the 5820k (6 core HT) CPU, but if you're gaming, an i7 6700k will be more than enough.

Get the i5 6500 for $198, it is a great CPU that'll last you a long time.

250 dollars is not enough for a 2011v3 cpu. you'll need atleast 350, + the other stuff like motherboard and such. It'll be a bit more costly than going 1151, and unnecessarily costly if you're only playing games.

Ah okay!

That makes it much easier.
Get the 5820k, it is the best value CPU for rendering out there, performs exactly the same as the 6800k.

Well given you already have an x99 board, it's a bit of a waste to just go for an LGA 1151 CPU+Mobo don't you think?
You'll just have an empty motherboard lying around..
Also to answer your question, the 5820k goes for about $360 atm, it should be $350 or less by two month's time anyway.

Yeah, more than likely on Black Friday it'll go for a steal!

More than worth it though, provides a significant gain over an i7 and still does well in games.
