So the Trendnet TK-409k doesn't do what I need, so I wasted money there. I'm having trouble finding what I need.

I have a gaming PC, and a work laptop (samsung). The gaming PC uses a DVI port (from looking at the back of the monitor) for display.

My external keyboard takes 2 usb ports (not 1) to run.
My mouse takes 1 usb port (though it's the logitech g900 so I can go wireless on one of my computers to eliminate the need to port this through on the KVM)
My work laptop has an HDMI port.

So I need a KVM switch that allows me to connect an HDMI cable and a VGA to it. E.g. computer one (gaming pc) can use the vga if I press that switch. Computer two could use my HDMI (work laptop) if I turn that on.

Has to at least support 2 usb ports for my keyboard, although supporting a third for my mouse would be nice.

Also I have Mackie CR4 speakers I'd like to kvm switch. So audio support for that too.

My main issue with finding a KVM switch for this is I don't know what search terms to use. I'm having issues finding a KVM switch that has support for multiple input types (dvi/hdmi).

Help is appreciated :) . Let me know if I missed anything or if clarifications are needed.

Also my gaming PC uses a 144htz monitor so something that supports that please :) .

Is this not possible?

I don't know any KVM switch that allows for dual USB connections for a single keyboard. You may need to use one and then stick the second one onto a powered USB hub.

They do make VGA and DVI combo KVMs https://www.startech.com/Server-Management/KVM-Switches/2-Port-DVI-VGA-Dual-Monitor-KVM-Switch-USB-with-Audio-and-USB-20-Hub~SV231DDVDUA

One for dual Display Port monitors https://www.startech.com/Server-Management/KVM-Switches/2-Port-Dual-DisplayPort-USB-KVM-Switch-with-Audio-and-USB-20-Hub~SV231DPDDUA

And DVI https://www.startech.com/Server-Management/KVM-Switches/2-Port-Dual-DVI-USB-KVM-Switch-with-Audio-20-Hub~SV231DD2DUA

You can use HDMI to DVI cable to connect the laptop to this.

Although for the prices, you may not want to...

Is this not possible? My monitor also has an HDMI port on my gaming PC but the monitor would be shared between both PCs (one cable for both) (if t hat would make it easier?)

Stupid question, but is HDMI the same as display port? Also I just saw that my gaming computer also has a slot for HDMI. So I could use HDMI for both.

However, question, because my monitor is 144hrtz, and it looks like that kvm switch you linked to only supports to 60hrtz.

Also from what I was seeing, KVM switches need 1 monitor per computer?

Also, in reference to your keyboard comment, as long as there are 2 usb slots, then that's all I need. My mouse is wireless.

Do KVM switches work with just 1 monitor? I could use HDMI for both computers assuming I can still get 1920 res and 144 hrtz. Sorry for the basic questions.

The KVM switches I linked are for dual monitor setup, take a look at the products. I doubt you can do 144hz to a monitor over them.

HDMI is not the same a display port, but they do make DP to HDMI adapters.

The dual monitor KVM are pricey though you are OK with spending $250 and up for this? Just do a web search for dual monitor KVM.
