i had to replace a failed PS on my HP pavillion p6102f. after installing the new PS, the system only runs one minute, then shuts off and restarts, in an endless loop, no OS. nothing appears on teh display. i've disconnected drives, and memory sticks and the same thing. my only guess is the onboard video is corrupt somehow, so in a last ditch effort to salvage this pc, i ordered a pci video card in hopes i can at least access the screen and then the bios. does this sound reasonable?

Sounds more like the additional power connectors haven't been plugged in.

Have you attached the 4/8 Pin CPU power header?

I would also reset the CMOS/BIOS by removing the battery on the motherboard.

Yes, I pulled the CMOS battery, and the CPU power is connected. Tomorrow the video card is arriving, so I'll report how that goes
