Hi. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

This is my first build. And it went fairly well.

However, i was experiencing apprantly random freezes, accompanied by a audio loop, that required me to do a hard reset.
I tried to isolate the cause, and found that the freezers came more frequently when watching movies, when playing games or running many tasks at once.

I tried switching between different Linux OS'es, but it didn't change anything. I then got a hold of a Windows 10 trial to test if it was Linux itself that was the problem. This didn't work.

I checked different tech-sites to find a post with a similar problem. There seemed to be similar cases, but the solution to the problems varied a lot. Many cases suggested the problem was memory related.

I ran memtest 86, both on linux and on windows, and both listed faulty RAM.
So i doublechecked my motherboards compability and shelled out for a pair of ADATA XPG DDR4 PC4-17000 (2 x 8 GB).
This, however, hasn't worked, and i still experience the freeze.

I have absolutely no idea what it could be that is causing this.
Does anybody have any advice what to do next?

I fear the fault might be in my motherboard or that i don't have a dedicated graphics card.

Thanks again for reading.

Solution
Did you try running memtest after swapping the RAM, if it is still saying faulty there are 2 options.

1 - You have the worlds worst luck.

2 - You have a bad mobo.

I would suggest try running with just 1 or other ram slot used.
