Is it future proof? worth it?
Also I do plan on playing with 1440p and maybe 4k in the future.

Thanks

Solution
Seems like you like the Black and Red - so parts are matching your theme.
There is no future proofing as no one can tell what will be the future. Your system will be capable of 1440p gaming for at least 3 years. Though if you do not plan going 4K in within a year or two - GTX 1070 will be enough.
few points:
1. the SanDisk X400 - better performance/value
2. PSU - get the EVGA G2 or P2 series or Corsair RMx of the same wattage - they are way better quality for very little more money/
3. Arctic liquid freezer 240 perfroms better/quieter and cost less while comes with 4 fans ;) But you really should consider Swiftech H220 - much better quality and performance (it is made of enthusiast grade components) for about the same price.
4. Full...

4. Full tower case and optical drive in 2016 ? for single card mini-ITX builds are very powerful today. And slightly larger cases like Fractal Design Define S are awesome.
