my current pc is an amd a8-7600 using its dual channel and i think its time for an upgrade for dual graphics, but instead of buying an rx 460 for an upgrade.... i dont know if having an i3-6100 (typically new gaming rig) with a mid gaming gpu like rx 470 or an intel equivalent gpu will be a big difference in playing dota2, nba2k16, gta V, mortal kombat x, or any other latest games.

which is better, an upgrade of gpu for my a8 or totally new rig with i3-6100?
im only a casual gamer, thank you in advance in answering my query

Because if your CPU can only deliver 30fps in a game, it doesn't matter what video card you have or what graphical settings you choose, you'll never get more than 30fps.

I'd say give your A8 a try, but it's a relatively low performance CPU and is starting to show its age in many games.

The i3 has significantly higher single-threaded performance which results in better game performance. That will match well with a 470. I used to use this CPU and only had problems with really unoptimized games like ARK.

Essentially anything under the "in development" category like ARK and DayZ or games with a bad engine like ARMA III. If you only plan on buying finished games or don't mind a framerate hanging around 30 in some games like the ones I listed then you probably won't encounter any issues. The games you listed will play perfect with this CPU and GPU. These games that are unoptimized are few and far between.
