i5 2390t vs i3 3220

Out of these two processors which is better? I already have them on hand as spare parts and I'm curious to see which one would be the best for my brothers gaming rig.

The i5 is probably better.

Cores/Threads wise, both processors are the same, with 2 cores 4 threads with Hyperthreading.

But the i5 has an overall higher Clock Speed (Including the Maximum Turbo Speed), and has Turbo Boost technology, allowing it to turbo to 3.5GHz from 2.7GHz. although the i3 runs at 3.3GHz maximum, and doesn't have turbo.

He has them already so he may as well use them, rather than buying a brand new CPU altogether. But I guess that's just me, I'm a cheapskate :p
