Is it worth running old GPU for PhysX

I just upgraded my PC. I'm running a i7-6700 on a Asus Maximus VIII - Hero with 32GB and a 1060 GPU. My old rig had 2 560s in SLI. I'm wondering if I should use one of my old 560s to process PhysX? I know that there is a system of checks and balances and my concern is that the card itself might drain resources, slowing the rig as a whole.

I have a dedicated Physx card myself and I imagine that a GTX 560, when paired with a GTX 1060, will do more harm than good. Ideally, you want a Physx card to be from the same or previous GPU generation.

+1 on the link you posted and bicycle_repair_man, its not worth it unless the GPU is fairly close in performance. There were some others on here who found it to be not worth it or even a detriment.

Well, I can only speak for myself, but my GTX 770 and GTX 750 work very well together.

I do agree that a dedicated Physx card for a GTX 1060 is a waste, as the 1060 should easily cope with Physx on its own.
