So my PC is finally all put together so i take my Acer P216HL Monitor from my other cpu to look at my Bios screen, but my monitor does not read the computer and stays black(like in sleep mode). I have my monitor connected through the VGA connector directly to the motherboard. I can't try putting it in my graphics card because it has a DVI-I Port and i don't have a monitor with that cable yet. So my question is, what further steps do i need to make to get the monitor working?

Solution
Yes, remove the graphics card entirely. Most motherboards automatically disable integrated graphics when there is a GPU detected. Otherwise, try getting an adapter to be able to use the GPU, since DVI-I can be adapted to VGA.
