Hello everyone :) I recently had a problem with my internet since I moved houses and got new internet. Right now my speed is pretty good with a average of 25mgbs. I checked my ping and the average for that was 17. Whenever I play games with multiplayer involved it tends to pause for 1/4 of a second every 2 seconds which is really annoying. I looked online and read a bunch of forums about how 2.4ghz can be interfered by phones, tvs, and microwaves. Since our new router has 5ghz also I bought a usb wireless adapter compatible with 5ghz routers. I am maybe 50-100 ft away from the router and I am a floor above the router. Since my sg6 can reach the 5ghz signal until my stairs which is 10ft from my room will a wireless adapter be able to detect the router from my room other than a phone built in wifi adapter?

You bought the adapter, why not try it and see if it works in your room instead of asking? Or are you saying that your phone can't get the 5 Ghz signal in your room? If it does not see it at all, or has a poor connection, then your adapter may not either. I have the same issue with 5 Ghz in my house, the 2.4 works fine on the second floor or few rooms from the router, but 5 Ghz is very slow past 1-2 rooms away from the router.
