cpu speed low?

I have been having some performance issues with gaming recently and I went into the BIOS and I noticed my processor speed was 0.80 MHz. I have an i7-6700 3.4Ghz why would my speed be so low? I downloaded cpu-z and its telling me my core speed is 800 MHz. Is there anything I could do to fix this? I have done no overclocking or tweaked this in any way before

That is the low power mode. It will run that low at idle, but it shouldn't when in use. If it IS doing while in use you are experiencing thermal throttling. I recommend buying some thermal paste and re-installing your heatsink making sure it's on correctly.

Ill go into the bios and check out the power options also I'm running a 980 ti so the gpu shouldn't be bottlenecking my cpu
