It depends on your preferences. If you find screen tearing really annoying then I would recommend a Gsync monitor, as they generally have good refresh rates/ response times. 1080p monitors are the called the "sweet spot" because they are relatively easy to power compared to 1440p, and it is generally more common for 1080p monitors to have higher refresh rate than 1440p
