How many fans can I run off of one motherboard fan header?

I have x3 corsair SP120 (for AIO liquid cooler radiator) and x3 corsair AF120 and I will be getting an ASUS Z170-A motherboard. I'm curious as to what's the maximum amount of fans I can SAFELY connect to a single fan header on the motherboard. Thanks in advance!

Most motherboard fan headers can take up to 1A (12w) of current.

As long as you add up the current for each fan and it's below that, you should be fine.

Be aware that fans take up more current to get started as opposed to once they're moving.

3x SP120s should be perfectly fine from one header.
I'm running from one header on my MSI-Z97i (CPU_FAN): 2x SP120s 1x Arctic F14 1x Cooler master 120mm Silent.
No issues so far. (3 months or so)
