Hello. First of all sorry for my English, this is not my native language. So I have this problem, I have Loptop Acer Aspire V3-772G for about 3 years, and in recent year I faced this problem with CPU, when I play games temperature hits 100 Celcius, the procesor is Intel i5-4200M. So half year ago I cleaned my pc from dust, changed termopaste, and for some time it helped, but not so much the temperature first reached when gaming 70 celcius, and when time pased it reached 100 celscus again. So my games started to get fps drops, the games I played before on high settings now plays on low settings with constant fps drops. When I am not playing games temperature stays betwen 40-50 celcius. I bought cooling fan, thought that it would help, to reduce temperature, but nothing works. What shoud i do ? Stop playing games completely ? go to the service ? Thank you for advices.

Solution
You could try pulling your battery, it's probably the most thermally sensitive component and keeping it cool will extend its life.

The reason your framerates drop at 100c is the CPU is downclocking itself to prevent overheating, it's not Windows doing it.
If temperatures degraded over time, that sounds like the cooler is adequate, but that it has filled up with dust/hair again, and/or the thermal paste you used dried out and stopped working as it should. I recommend a high quality paste and cleaning the heatsink again.

I used simple thermal paste, specifications was up to 150 celcius degree, and yes I firmly attached heatsink

Thank you, so for now I Shoud stop playing games, because it can damage my CPU ? if it isin't damaged already. Because now I am on the business trip, so it is important to me.

Your CPU has thermal throttling to prevent damage. It's unlikely to be harmed, I'd be more concerned about the heat degrading your battery. You might try setting your computer to power saver mode, which will reduce clockspeed and possibly keep it below 100c while gaming until you have time to buy some high quality paste (not generic!) and clean the heatsink out again.

Please try again, cleaning the CPU and heatsink with isopropyl alcohol (at least 90% concentrate) and using Arctic MX-4 thermal paste.

Thank you very much. And I wanted to clarify another thing, sorry for offtopic. So fps drops because of CPU reaching 100 celcius, and it itself preventing overheat ? Or it is the problem of operation system ? because I am using windows 10, and I saw a lot of people complaining that after instaling or upgrading windows 10 games started to lag, and some complaining that it is nvidia driver problems. Coud it be true ?

Thank you, when I have time, I will search for this specific thermal paste.

And another thing, so If I play games, maybe I have to remove battery ? It woud help ? because when I play games I plug my pc to power source.
