History:

Gateway GT5628
Factory Shipped to me : June, 2006
Win Home Premium (English) 32 bit
================================
Upgrade to Vista Ultimate July, 2009
================================
Put Computer in Storage Oct, 2011
================================
Pulled Computer Out Of Storage Sept, 2016
=====================================
Note: could not find Gateway Restore Disks,
but did find Windows OEM Vista Home Premium disk and the Vista Ultimate Upgrade disks.

after taking the system out of storage my first boot was:
No boot into Vista Ultimate desktop so I tried to reboot to F8 and look for "Repair My Computer" but that option was not in the list, only things like safe mode and so on was listed.

I then used the Windows OEM disk to install Vista Home Premium 32 bit, and that worked and it's stable.

But what I really wanted is to restore it back to factory day one settings.

I did notice I have 2 partitions on this computer, one is (C: Win Vista Home Premium 32 bit) and another is (D: RECOVERY) I don't know if the D partition is just windows recovery backups or is that Gateway Factory Restore?

Now to the big questions:

1. How can I find out if D Partition is Windows Backups or Gateways Factory Restore?
2. If that D Partition is in fact Gateway Factory Recovery how can I access it and what is the steps to restore with out the disks?

So very sorry for the very long explanation, just wanted to give as much history as possible.
Thank you all for your time and support!

Solution
Try using Alt F10 at boot. If you installed Windows over the original setup though, that may have broken that function though.

There is also this from Gateway about using the F8 options to do a factory restore, but again, if you wiped the original Windows setup, this may not work, even if the second D partition was not touched.
