Looking to upgrade to Devils Canyon from fx 8370 because that cpu is starting to show its age. Was wondering what MB I can get for 4790k. Asus is out of the z97 game and newegg still has z97 pro gamer available. Was wondering what you guys think I should consider. Not looking to spend more $150 on MB. Has to be 2 way sli ready for dual 970 cards. I heard some bad things about msi so i'm real iffy about them.

Solution
When I was replacing my dead GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK BLACK EDITION motherboard, several months ago, I had ordered and received an ASUS Z97-A/USB 3.1 motherboard. When I received the ASUS Z97-A/USB 3.1 it wouldn't go past the CPU check when I tested it with two different i7-4790K CPUs. I was able to return that motherboard back to my vendor and received a full refund.

I ended up purchasing two ASUS Z97-PRO GAMER motherboards that both work absolutely fine.

Looking at published return rates due to failure stats, for both of those ASUS motherboard models, it seems to support my experience.

from my understanding, microsoft made it easier when going to a new mb. it's all done through the OS, just have to tell microsoft that it's the same computer on the list of registered pcs.
