They're these old bose headphones i found lying around my sister's closet. She doesnt use them anymore, and i was actually about to go buy some headphones...

They sound fantastic when i plug them into the audio output jacks on my monitor, and when i plug them into the audio interface. I dont have to bring up the volume that much to be satisfied.

but when i plug them directly into the pc, I have to bring the volume up to max to hear anything decently. The sound quality is great, its just that i have to raise the volume so high to hear anything.

Whenever i plugged in my earbuds into the pc, they sounded fine too.

Solution
May need some volume control via the mixer or the playback device

Click the speaker icon (probably lower right screen corner) and go into Playback devices.

Find your headphones and look at the various properties and tab settings. Look for "levels". However, some other property may make a difference as well.
