what ram type i must buy

cpuZ is showing me intel i5 2 cores 4 threads yet i have i5vpro 4cores lol ? I5vpro 680@3,6GHz 3,73 GHz 64bit win10pro, im trying to find what type of ram is suitable cpu z says DDR3 Channel Dual DCMode symmetric NB freq 2394.3Mhz im soooooooooooooooooooo confused what ram i need to buy i want 2x8 = 16gb do i need bios update for it ???

The 680 is a dual core (2) with hyperthreading (4 threads), you are on the 1156 platform which supports up to 16GB in a4x4GB config. Problems you might find on DRAM is the 1156 was designed for DDR3 of it's day which used low density memory chips, todays DDR3 has used high density memory chips since around 2011, I'd look for the GSKill NT series of DDR3 value DRAM (check NewEgg) which uses the older low density chips

thank you, is it only 4x4 or can i 2x8???? it has 4 slots but it looks like it has 2 usable idk whish i could send pics now it has 2x2
